Questions Answered and Free Backlinks Given

Written by admin on August 25, 2008 – -

I just wanted to thank you all for asking questions, I’m always up for answering questions. Though, some of you guys ask every other comment and it’s hard to keep up. :P

But sorry it took so long to answer these questions, I wasn’t around too much this past weekend.

Pangeran asks “While you’re making money online. What are your recommended money maker?”

It all depends because there are so many ways of making money online that it’s hard to narrow everything down. Personally, I don’t rely on just one source of income but I’ll try to break down each favorite.

Market Leverage for affiliate marketing because they are in a class of their own. Not only do they take the time to personally help you but they also hold videos telling you about the latest programs that will help you out.

SWATcash for GPT site because they have the best payouts, easiest ways to make money and they are well established. I joined not too long ago and have made a pretty good chunk of change.

SponsoredReviews is you’re actually going through a middleman company to get paid reviews. Though, I don’t highly recommend their affiliate program. For that, I’d use PayPerPost for their $15 for each signup. PPP has paid me quite some money without me writing a single paid review post for them.

Personally, I started getting into building niche sites so I only really have to do a one-time setup and just watch my money increase. Yeah, I may have to update once a month or whatever but seeing your revenue go up each day and just sitting back is what we all want, right?

Also, playing the middleman pays off pretty nice if you work it right. It’s almost like a buy low sell high type of thing.

Sherry asks “do you think ProjectWonderful is a wonder ad to place in blogs?”

Not really. I tried out PW back around the time I was first introduced to Entrecard. It was so inconsistent with the pay and it wasn’t exactly worth it. Some days you’ll get someone who advertises on your blog for $0.50 a day and then the next week you won’t have anyone.

You might as well sell that ad spot through your private ads so you’ll get the money upfront.

O. Messaoud asks “How much money do you spend promoting this blog, on a monthly basis?”

Absolutely none. Well, besides the $50 I’ll be giving away for my contest . But usually zero.

Money Bag Blog asks, “I’m participating in many paid review programs. I want to know how’s your tips so our blog PageRank wasn’t drop even will have established or grow strong everytime Google update the PageRank”

Well, first, I would probably stop using Payperpost because Google doesn’t like people writing paid reviews and they don’t especially like PPP.

Of course, you probably won’t stop using them so I’d suggest inserting “nofollow” tags on the links or act like the post isn’t a paid review, but rather a generic post on your blog.

Of course, you can always cut out the middleman and go straight to the company who wants the paid review. :D

XRIOT asks “Affiliate programs vs. sold ad space? Which is a better money generator?”

It all depends. Affiliate programs are never a guarantee when it comes to money. For instance, if tons of people click on the ad but it doesn’t convert, you get absolutely nothing. On the other hand, if you sold the ad spot ahead of time, that’s guaranteed money upfront and chances are if your advertiser gets enough clicks, they’ll renew… and maybe for the long term.

What most people do is put affiliate programs up when that ad spot is not sold. But guaranteed money upfront is hard to beat.

Deb@Bird on a Wire asks “What about performancing ads..are they really a good marketing tool?”

I haven’t tried them out yet. I was going to a few weeks ago but I felt they’re just like the same type of middleman company like everyone else (Adtoll, PW, etc).

But that shouldn’t stop you guys from signing up and at least trying it out. I mean, if other companies aren’t helping and you can’t sell your private ad spots, then go for it.

And are they a good marketing tool? Probably… for the short term, at least.

IE Reviews asks “Is adsense a good program??”

No.

Was that the answer you’re expecting or were you just asking for the free backlink? :P Let’s say, Google Adsense is the best PPC advertising program, and pays the most. Of course, you need to get a lot of search engine traffic to get any type of money.

Sonykeweck asks “I have been enrolling many paid program but I’m not sure that I can. Coz my blog is new and still only posted 1 article. We need your best advise for me.”

You can’t. Most paid review sites have minimum requirements to sign up. If they didn’t, anyone can create a free blogspot blog and then start making money.

If you’re really interested in paid review programs, I’d suggest write 10+ posts, get rid of your blogspot nav menu up top and just wait. Unfortunately, most paid review sites require a minimum of three months being active, at least 10 posts, and the fact that you can’t have more than 50 percent of paid reviews on your site.

Ginny asks “What is your top money maker program?

What program do you recommend to someone that is newer or has a lower page rank that will earn a decent wage?

Lastly, how long did it take you to start earning a decent income online?

Well, I stopped using programs but rather focus on making money from other sources (site flipping, niche sites, playing the middleman, etc) but if you want to know what has worked for me and what I like, see the first answer.

For your second question, am I assuming you’re talking about a paid review site or something? Well, Pagerank doesn’t really mean much and that shouldn’t stop you from making money online . There are plenty of ways of making money online, you just need to be a little creative. Plus, it doesn’t matter how long your Pagerank, it all depends on your other stats like traffic, RSS Feed subscribers, etc.

Lastly, it depends on what you think is a “decent” income? And also, I was a complete noob when I first started and had no idea on how to make money online . Plus, in the beginning, I wasn’t focused on monetizing at all.

So, to answer your question, maybe about 4 months? But again, I wasn’t monetizing and if I had the knowledge I had now then I probably have probably made money after the first few weeks.

I hope I answered your question, if not, just let me know.

Rob asks “How do you find out the pay of ads from adsense, and can you remove the lower paying ones ?

I read this somewhere but forgot the answer. There is an easy way of finding out, but I’m sorry I forgot. But you can always use Google’s Traffic Estimator and type in a keyword and see how much it goes for.

And I don’t think you can “remove” the lower paying ones but rather target better keywords. Again, there’s an easy way but I just forgot. But you can always just bold your targeted keywords and that should help.

I’ll see if I can find the answer for you, I know I read it somewhere before.

Update: Once you find out your keywords from the Traffic Estimator to see which ones pay the most, you want the Adsense Ads to show up by targeting those terms. Simply put in this html code below:

<!– google_ad_section_start –>
Your keywords go here
<!– google_ad_section_end –>

And Google should pick up those high paying keywords to show up on your site. Just a heads up, they don’t go into affect immediately and I heard they can take up to two weeks to even show up.

Rarst asks “What this blogs offers to convince me that it is worth following comparing to bunch “yet others” MMO blogs?”

Well, first, this has to be the most interesting question I was asked so you can the free 125×125 advertising for a month.

I’m going to have to convince you with my content and show you. But unlike a bunch of these other MMO blogs, I’m not faking it and I’m not learning on-the-go. I will write detailed posts on how to get traffic, make money, etc but it will be proven ways of doing so. And not that typical post but creative ways that has helped me which I’m willing to share.

In addition, I will help you out with any questions you might have on a personal level too. Most people will charge you for stuff like that.

Lucas asks “Is this really just another MMO blog (I saw your about page but still wanted to know more about this blog)?”

I haven’t updated my about page since I started this blog. I started it as a friendly competition and then stopped working on it for quite sometime. I have recently reinvested some time into this blog.

I came up with the domain name as a running gag on how much people despise MMO blogs from the very second someone mentions it. I already have a entrepreneur blog that does pretty good and I just want to start from scratch to see if I can build up this site and possibly sell it. I’m sure I can and when I do, I’m going to write a detailed post on my other blog (which I won’t want to reveal at this time).

Corey Freeman asks “What are your thoughts on branding and design in regards to online marketing? Do you think that one should focus more on the actual content, or that they should also strive to provide a unique ‘look/feel’ for making money online?”

Branding and design is definitely an important part of marketing because that’s how people are going to remember you. For instance, a lot of people have these cartoonish characters and tons of people remember them from those.

When it comes down to it, you should probably focus on content because no matter how great your blog looks, it’s your content that will make them stick around. Of course, if you can do both, then that’s even better.

Though, ugly landing pages and niche sites tend to do very well. But I just assumed you were talking about regular blogs and stuff.

Pangeran asks “When will you answer all this question? In an ebook?”

Didn’t you already ask a question? :P I’m answering them now… but I may do an eBook in the future on something else :P

Rye asks “You said on one of your posts that you should never rely on on source of money, etc., my question is what are you doing besides blogging that gives you that ‘extra’ cash…?”

I play the middleman which seems to bring in some decent cash. Also, I set up a bunch of niche sites and do some SEO to rank high on search engines and just watch my Adsense steadily increase everyday without me doing additional work. I’m starting to get into domain and site flipping as well but I’ll let you know how to that goes soon. Also, GPT sites like SWATcash is pretty good source of income as well.

Those are the only things I’m working on but just a few ideas.

WebTrafficROI asks “How many blogs or projects do average blogger’s work on…”

Every blogger is different so I have no idea what the “average blogger” does. But the ones that actually make a decent amount of money online probably has a bunch of projects and/or blogs (including myself).

And most people that make a decent amount of money online has other projects besides just a blog. Like I said, never rely on one source of revenue.

And I think I answered everybody’s questions, thank you for participating. If you have follow-up questions, feel free to ask, I’m always up for helping out.

    Building a niche website?

Is it a blog or a static website?
    Sorry, question again.

Maybe you can teach us how, or what is it actually.

I’m really asking for learning. :-)

And, thanks for this tips too…
    I really never know this.

Pangeran - It’s a static website. I’m trying to build like 10-15 niche websites (not blogs) as a one time setup and just watch the money roll in.

I’ll probably write about it in details sometime in a later post once I get enough readers, subscribers, traffic, etc. I haven’t been promoting like I should be… of course, the more you guys help me out, the quicker I bring these detailed posts to you!

I don’t know, but this could be just me, but it seems like you do A LOT of different stuff.

Can I know the ballpart of how much you earn per month?

  15. By Admin on Aug 27, 2008 | Reply

Melvin - Don’t worry, I’ll probably be holding Q&A every few weeks or once a month so definitely check back and you’ll get the backlink… oh, and get to ask a question, of course.

Static - You are absolutely right, I do a LOT of different stuff online because I don’t believe in one source of revenue.

But my monthly earnings vary from month to month. I would say probably in the $x,xxx a month? But that’s from everything I do to make money online and not just from blogs or whatever.
