Basic Points That Buyers Look For in Purchasing a Site

Written by admin on September 26, 2008 – -

Since site flipping seems like the hot trend around the blogosphere, and also the fact that I mentioned I would discuss it a little bit here, I figured I’d post a few basic points on what potential buyers want when purchasing a site.

I already talked to some of you guys via e-mail and wrote about details based on the information you supplied me with but I’ll go over some basics just incase you’re planning on building a site to try to sell it in the near future, or if you have a site you’ve been working on for a long time and are considering selling.

Monthly Revenue : This has to be the most important point that buyers look for because they’re basically putting an investment on the site knowing it’s potential of making more money.

In addition, there are some people who have a tough time monetizing a site to make it work. Anyone can get traffic to a site but not everyone can turn that traffic into money, including some buyers.

A lot of people ask for proof of revenue for the last 3 month, sometimes longer and sometimes shorter. If you have an Adsense site, you can always show daily proofs and convince them that way as well.

Most buyers would pay between 6-12 times the monthly revenue, sometimes more and sometimes less. On average, I think the going rate is on a 10 month basis but it all depends on the potential of the site and selling point.

How Long Will Your MMO Blog Last?

Written by admin on September 22, 2008 – -

We all know the Make Money Online niche is already oversaturated and it continues to inflate as I type. Most people who start a MMO blog just do it because they think it’s an easy way of making money and when they find out the hard way, their blog usually goes down the drain.

I’ll be the first to admit that I started this particular blog for a mini-competition between a few friends and I let this blog die off for a little bit. But as you can see, I’m back to posting and trying to stay active with it. And if you’re curious, my competitors blogs apparently are either inactive or are no longer there at all.

So, I obviously won the competition. :D

Anyways, that leads me to my point that most MMO blogs won’t last long and people who have thoughts on starting one should take my advice - don’t start one!

I’ve seen it happen too many times and I want to say about 95% of the times, the blog either is left for dead, they take an extended break from it and eventually return for some reason or they try to sell it. Now, we all have reasons why we take breaks or need to sell it but for the most part, people who start a MMO blog usually do it for the wrong reasons.

If you’re looking to make money blogging, then you shouldn’t get into MMO because there are plenty of blogs in different niches that make more. Matter of fact, I have a blog that just discusses my interests and things I like and I make a lot more money from that blog than I do here. And this blog is older. :D

Anyways, I’m curious if you guys ever had a MMO blog before and if you still have it, you let it die out, you sold it, etc? And if you still have it but don’t do anything to it, I would even consider taking it off your hands!

Note: I think I replied to everyone’s e-mails on site flipping. Also, for those that left comments needing additional assistance, please e-mail me so I can help you out privately.

Site Flipping Guidance Update: Would You Rather…

Written by admin on September 18, 2008 – -

So, I offered to give site flipping guidance on a one on one type basis. I figured I could do that because this blog is still fairly small so I didn’t expect a lot of people to contact me. Plus, having a one on one session can be tough if I’m unable to chat live because of different time zones or other conflicting schedule type stuff.

I was wondering if you guys would rather have me start a blog post and just have you guys ask questions and I’ll answer through the comments, that way everyone else can read along because I’m sure a lot of people would have similar questions to ask. If you do it this way, you can rank really high in my top commentators which would help with backlinks at the same time.

Of course, there are some people who prefer talking in private because they want to show me things they would prefer not to show everyone else and I understand that privacy is needed so you have less competition and people trying to steal your ideas or whatever.

Anyways, I wanted to ask what you guys and just toss out the blog post and commenting idea. I think I know what you guys would prefer but I’m just suggesting.

Let me know!

I’ll Help You Step By Step Through Site Flipping

Written by admin on September 16, 2008 – -

Just the other day I mentioned that it is pretty easy to get into site flipping but I know that’s not good enough for a lot of people. So, what if I told you that I’d be willing to help you step by step through the process, would you actually take some sort of initiative in doing so?

A lot of people are lazy (including myself) so they need some motivation to do something and what’s easier than someone talking you through it step by step?

I will personally help out the first ten people who are interested in this. If you are, please leave a comment and use my contact form to send me an e-mail.

There’s no catch to this, I just want to get the word out that I actually know what I’m doing as an online entrepreneur and also I want to personally prove to people I can make them money.

Though, you have to keep a few things in mind if you are interested:

- You have to be somewhat committed; if you aren’t then I can’t promise success to you

- You need to know at the very least the basics of blogging, promotions, etc

- You will also need to have your own hosting

- There are small expenses such as hosting, purchasing a domain name and if you can, a design (but it’s not necessary)

If this fits you, then give me a shout and I’m sure we can work something out.

Would You Exclude People From Your Next Contest Who Unsubscribe?

Written by admin on September 12, 2008 – -

This post is mainly to ask you guys for your opinion on this situation I’m having. I was going to have a different post today but this morning when I went to check my e-mail, I received two more messages that go something like "Unsubscription notification…"

I know staying subscribed via e-mail is never a guarantee. Matter of fact, it’s understandable that someone would unsubscribe at some point in time for whatever reason. I have too, don’t worry. But my question is "Would You Exclude People From Your Next Contest Who Unsubscribed?"

Now what if I told that I know for a fact that those certain people just subscribed because of my contest that I had? Would it be fair to exclude them from my upcoming contest? Especially if I had a prize that people would definitely love?

See, I look at it like this, I had three options to enter the contest: A simple comment on the contest post, subscribing via e-mail and/or blogging about it. If they didn’t want to subscribe, they should have only entered by commenting.

Now what if I told you those same people who unsubscribed were to subscribed once again once I launch my new contest? Is it a coincidence? Of course not! They just want to try to win my contest but do you think they deserve to win a great (or mediocre) prize?

Anyways, I think I know what a majority of you guys would say but I figured I’d get my rambling out of the way on this situation.
