I Reached 100 Subscribers with Minimal Work

Well, I finally reached my goal of getting 100 subscribers and honestly, it was pretty easy but now I have to push to getting 200, 300, etc. Though, getting 100 subscribers was easy, the hard part is keeping those subscribers around and building off that.

I’ve gotten 100 subscribers in basically three weeks since I reinvested my time into this blog. But quite frankly, I could’ve gotten more but I’m pacing myself when it comes to gaining subscribers.

I haven’t even promoted this blog to the fullest extent yet and I’m still not even using social media and bookmarking sites to get traffic. Also, a large chunk of my subscribers came from my past contest which was very successful because people love to win things but the key is to keep those contestants intrigued with your blog once they come.

So how did I manage to do that?

Well, first, I gave incentives for people to stay subscribed to my blog via e-mail. Not only will you get their attention with the incentives you give out but also, you’re almost guaranteed they will check out a post or two.

Secondly, you want to write good content and always focus on that. Yes, the contest attracts people to come to your blog but the content is the reason why they continue to come back. Once you get any visitor, it’s your job to keep them here. And more than likely they came here looking for great content so that’s what I’m trying to give them.

Lastly, interact with your readers. I’m the type to give back to my readers and I want to keep them contributing to this blog as much as they can. I held a Q&A session to answer peoples questions and I’m sure they appreciated me taking the time to help them out. In addition to answering their own personal question(s), they got a chance to reader other questions and answers too. Plus, they all got a backlink just for asking.

See, those are the simplest ways to keep your readers intrigued enough to stick around longer. Honestly, anyone can get 100 subscribers, that’s the easy part. The hard part is keeping those readers happy and wanting to come back for more.

Think about that and while you have that in the back of your mind, start working on your next goal… 200 subscribers.

Yes, i agree with you. Getting subscribers is easy but keeping those subscribers remain subscribed is not easy.

I am yet to hit the 100 mark but I am trying my hardest to get there. I have about 70 subscribed to my email newsletter (not RSS feed) and my RSS readership is growing slowly on my entrepreneur site. I am hoping to hit the 100 subscriber mark in the next 2 months. Do you think this is achievable?

ThemeLib - Well, you can track my progress and I’ll be writing how I do it here. Of course, every niche is different, you know? I have worked with various niches before so let me know if you need help.

Ryan - 100 subscribers in 2 months is definitely achievable. I mean, I just showed you it’s possible to do it in 3 weeks with VERY minimal work. I’ll help you out if you need and I’ll be documenting my progress in posts as well to help out.

Pangeran - I’m glad and definitely appreciate you as a reader and a commentator!

Rye - Actually, a few people unsubscribed and yes, a LOT of people do it. That’s part of the reason why I’m not a big fan of contests…
