Why Do You Come Here And Read My Blog?

Written by admin on November 29, 2008 – -

Everyone has expectations and different reasons for coming to this blog and I’m just a little curious why. Of course, I appreciate any and every reader and visitor that comes here but I am curious why you guys continue to come back and what you’re expecting from me?

I would like to know so I know how to improve on certain areas and come up with more creative ways to keep you guys interested and entertained.

And please, I would like the truth even if it hurts. I don’t mind constructive criticism because that’s how we all learn and improve. Plus, I’m hoping to give my readers exactly what they want.

So, how did you find your way to this blog? What do you expect from it? Why do you continue to come back here?

Like I said, I can take it. For instance, if you’re only here because of the contest(s) that I hold or will be hosting in the near future, just tell me that. I know there are tons of people who go to blogs specifically for blog contests so if you’re one of them, just let me know. Maybe I’ll have a blog contest on here once a month if enough people are interested.

If you like the content or are expecting something specific like a topic, let me know and I’ll be glad to post about it too.

I like to try to interact with my readers, just let me know and I’ll do my best to help you guys out.

Why I Love Reading Paid Reviews

Written by admin on November 26, 2008 – -

Online paid reviews

Unlike a lot of other bloggers, I actually like reading paid reviews on various products and sites. Most people I know hate it and think it’s a turn off but I just look at the positive aspects of it rather than “oh, not another paid review!”

First, if you’re in the make money online niche, you’re bound to see the same product/site review on various blogs. Some reviews are good and some are bad but either way, it’s good for you because you get to read other opinions prior to you trying it out.

But honestly, that’s not even why I love reading paid reviews. I like reading it because I use it to benefit myself as well. If you’re wondering how it benefits me, well, if the product relates to my niche and my readers would enjoy it, I bet the person who purchased the review would be interested in purchasing one here.

All it takes is a simple comment, a thoughtful one, and mention something on the lines of “I’m sure this product would benefit my readers as well.” Of course, you might want to write a little more than that because most people who pay for reviews, are the same people who read what people have to say. If you can get their attention enough, they won’t hesistate in visiting your blog, contacting you for a paid review for themselves.

See, you have to turn the bad into good. So, it takes a few minutes to read and it takes less to comment and you’ll have a potential buyer in no time.

Of course, it doesn’t always work but it definitely increases your chances. I’ve been contacted a couple times for reviews on this blog but I simply turned them down simply because I didn’t want to write a review on those specific products that contacted me with.

So, go out there and read those paid reviews because more than likely, you’ll be the next one writing one! And better yet, you’re get some extra cash in your pockets!

Who Are You Supporting for the Blogging Idol?

Written by admin on November 18, 2008 – -

Just the other day I talked about if the Blogging Idol was really worth it , so if you guys don’t know what it is, check out that post. Now I’m asking which contestant are you supporting?

For those of you guys that are too lazy to read my other post, Blogging Idol was basically formed to see which contestant can get the most subscribers within a given month. And I’m not going to lie to you, it seems like a pretty decent enough contest (except if people try to cheat).

If I were you, I would at least follow it because people reveal some interesting ways of gaining RSS Feed subscribers. And because of the interesting ways I have seen and read, that’s what sparked this post on who you would/will be supporting.

The other day, I read on John Chow (by the way, his blog takes forever to load!) that he was giving his support to Suzanne Franco as the next Blogging Idol because she went above and beyond to make an entire Youtube video pleading for his help. Of course, the dot com mogul responded to her by posting on his blog with his support.

Are they running for president or something?!

Anyways, Suzanne’s tactic was definitely interesting as she saw her RSS Feed count shoot up. Unfortunately, she still has a long way to go as she still trails the first place contestant by about 500.

So, who are you supporting? Well, looking on the list, I’m supporting a handful of people. I’m supporting them because I’m already subscribed to their RSS Feeds. Below are the people I’m supporting from the contest:

- Gyutae of WinningtheWeb.com (he came up short of the first Blogging Idol)

- Jay of http://www.DatMoney.com (he actually helps people out!)

- Jason of TheUniversityKid.com (he also helps people out with great posts and more!)

I’m willing to check out the other blogs as well but currently, these three contestants are who I’m supporting.

Are you guys supporting anyone?

Paying for Wordpress Plugins: Yes or No?

Written by admin on November 17, 2008 – -

As you know, Wordpress is probably one of the most popular blogging platforms out there now. And with a popular platform comes the additional features which helps customize your blog. Things like Wordpress themes and templates, plugins and more. But one of my questions is: Would you pay for a Wordpress plugin?

I understand paying for themes because that is directly what people see. The first thing your visitor recognizes is the layout but plugins are not even visible to the readers. Well, at least most of them aren’t.

The reason why people pay for plugin’s is simply because in the long run, it saves them time to focus on bigger and better things. Personally, I have a few plugin’s that people have to pay for and I got them because they are simply worth it.

I know a lot of people aren’t a big fan of paying a single dime (let alone pay for self-hosting) but if you’re serious about making money online, you need to know how to focus on the time you may potentially lose from doing something else.

You know what they say, “time is money.”

Honestly, I learned that the hard way. Well, not really but because I was introduced to some interesting features, like Wordpress plugin’s, that cut my working time by hours a week. That just let me redirect my time and effort into bigger projects that I’ve been postponing for quite sometime.

So, would I pay for Wordpress plugin’s?

In the beginning, probably not only because I had no idea what I was doing. Now that I’m making a decent amount of money online, I would definitely spend some extra cash to help save me time.

Next up, outsourcing!

Is Blogging Idol Really Worth It?

Written by admin on November 12, 2008 – -

I’m sure some of you guys are aware of the Blogging Idol contest that is going on as we speak. And for those of you guys not aware of it, well, it’s basically a competition in which the winner is determined by the amount of RSS Feed subscribers one can gain within a given period. Well, is it really worth it to enter?

I first heard about the competition from DatMoney.com and then I went over to the Dailyblogtips.com to check it out. Personally, I didn’t enter because of the fact that there are over 100 contestants, plus, if I read correctly, the first one gathered a lot of attention but not all of it was good.

Matter of fact, most of it was accusing the top contestants of cheating by artificially inflating their RSS Feed numbers.

So, there are many pros and cons with the Blogging Idol contest but which one does it favor more?

Pros:

- You can added publicity
- Backlinks from Dailyblogtips.com and any other blogs
- You get a chance to win great prizes including $1,000 cash
- You get to check out new blogs you would have never known about and network

Cons:

- You have to deal with people cheating
- Spammers – believe it or not, I heard some contestants were e-mailing everyone to get links, exchange RSS Feeds, etc
- Self-esteem issues when you lose
- You’re so involved with that, you lose focus on everything else

I know the Pros definitely outweigh the cons but you have to look at both side of the issue.

Should you have even bothered entering in the contest if you managed to gain 13 subscribers in the last six months? Probably not. And that’s another reason why I didn’t because anyone could have entered with no real requirements.

Anyways, what do you guys think of the Blogging Idol?
