Who Are You Supporting for the Blogging Idol?

Written by admin on November 18, 2008 – -

Just the other day I talked about if the Blogging Idol was really worth it , so if you guys don’t know what it is, check out that post. Now I’m asking which contestant are you supporting?

For those of you guys that are too lazy to read my other post, Blogging Idol was basically formed to see which contestant can get the most subscribers within a given month. And I’m not going to lie to you, it seems like a pretty decent enough contest (except if people try to cheat).

If I were you, I would at least follow it because people reveal some interesting ways of gaining RSS Feed subscribers. And because of the interesting ways I have seen and read, that’s what sparked this post on who you would/will be supporting.

The other day, I read on John Chow (by the way, his blog takes forever to load!) that he was giving his support to Suzanne Franco as the next Blogging Idol because she went above and beyond to make an entire Youtube video pleading for his help. Of course, the dot com mogul responded to her by posting on his blog with his support.

Are they running for president or something?!

Anyways, Suzanne’s tactic was definitely interesting as she saw her RSS Feed count shoot up. Unfortunately, she still has a long way to go as she still trails the first place contestant by about 500.

So, who are you supporting? Well, looking on the list, I’m supporting a handful of people. I’m supporting them because I’m already subscribed to their RSS Feeds. Below are the people I’m supporting from the contest:

- Gyutae of WinningtheWeb.com (he came up short of the first Blogging Idol)

- Jay of http://www.DatMoney.com (he actually helps people out!)

- Jason of TheUniversityKid.com (he also helps people out with great posts and more!)

I’m willing to check out the other blogs as well but currently, these three contestants are who I’m supporting.

Are you guys supporting anyone?

Oh, just another supporter.. Haha, just kidding. Thanks for the support, I really appreciate it! I haven’t really been putting in the effort to increase my subscribers for Blogging Idol, but I may put in a push at the end to take the win. :)

I will support Jason because his blog posts are always phenominal. No useless fluff on his blog.

Hey … thanks for the mention … I’m having a lot of fun with my quest to be the next Blogging Idol.

The videos I sent out might have “worked” in some people’s eyes … but I will mention that the strategy behind the videos was two-fold: (1) to see if I could get some attention from any of these guys and (2) to have some fun and get my readers involved … hoping people would subscribe to follow along and see IF any of these guys would actually show up.

I’m not winning the race for the RSS feed portion of the contest (it’s not over yet) but that’s not the only way to get points towards winning the title. The readers and judges are supposed to vote for the contestant who they think used the most “clever” idea … whether it worked or not. I was looking to get creative to capture votes … and many people think it was pretty creative.

I personally subscribe to Gyutae, Jay, and Jason’s blogs as well … and I won’t be unsubscribing due to the competition … not my style at all. I enjoy meeting and networking with other bloggers … it’s fun isn’t it?

Let me know what I would need to do to earn your support as well … and I’ll see what I can do. I’ll be starting a contest within the next few days and I have some awesome prizes lined up so be sure and check it out. *SmiLes* Suzanne
