Would You Make an Automated Blog with Other Peoples Content to Make Thousands of Dollars?
Written by admin on March 18, 2009 – -I have a very simple question to ask: would you make an automated blog with other peoples content if you could make thousands of dollars? I know quite a few people who have tried out this method before and although you can make tons of money by not doing much, the unethical part hits.
Now, there are quite a few ways of making money with automated blogs but the main way I’m talking about is setting up one that takes content from other peoples feeds. So, essentially, you’ll be using other peoples work and content on your site while you sit back and relax while watching your earnings increase.
I know a bunch of people that would do this simply because its easy money and I see a lot of people not giving a damn just as long as they make some money from it.
On the other hand, some people won’t attempt to test this out because its unethical or they don’t want to get in trouble from Google or anyone else for that matter. And believe it or not, there are people who actually want to go and work on the money rather than taking a cheap way of making some quick cash.
In my opinion, usually the quick money methods are just that and nothing more. You get some quick cash but in the long run it usually dies out for whatever reason. And if the reason is because you got in trouble, more than likely it’s going to hurt you more than it will ever help you.
I have tried this method out so I know it works to make money but I stopped doing it simply because its just not right. The only reason why I tried it because I wanted to see how it worked more out of curiosity than making money.
So, my question: would you try this method out and why?

BuyBlogReviews.com Sucks as a Paid Review Site
Written by admin on December 8, 2008 – -If you are a blogger who writes paid reviews, I just hope you’re not the type to sign up for as many paid review sites as you possibly can. And quite honestly, I would try to stay away from BuyBlogReviews.com because they to be arguably the worst one out there.
So, I’m sure you guys are aware of paid reviews sites, right? There are tons of them out there and I have tried out tons of them before. Just incase you needed additional sources for paid review sites, below is a quick list of all of the ones I have tried out:
PayPerPost
SponsoredReviews
Smorty
BuyBlogReviews
LinkWorth
Out of all the ones I have tried out, BuyBlogReviews.com is the worst for several reasons. First, they have the lowest paid reviews available as most of them range in the single-digit area and the most I’ve seen was probably $50 but they required ridiculous stats for your site (Alexa under 1,000 and stuff like that).
They also have a affiliate program that is pretty bad. Essentially, you get 15% of the total money spend on the first transaction of an advertiser or a blogger. Sounds pretty damn good, huh?
Wrong!
Since most of the reviews that are offered are the site range in the single-digit area, 15% of that is chump change. For instance, there are some offers that pay you $1.00… and 15% of a dollar is $0.15 which is close to nothing if you ask me.
Wait, that’s not even the worst part. Apparently, they don’t even pay for your affiliate commission! I’m dead serious and I contacted them twice regarding this and still nothing was resolved.
The first time I contacted them, they simply told me that they were having issues and the payment would be sent over on the next pay cycle. Of course, I took their word for it and after 2-3 pay cycles, I still never received anything in my Paypal account.
I contacted them again explaining in details what happened including their own response and still, nothing. They simply told me the same thing you mentioned in the first e-mail in which I replied they already told me that and nothing happened.
Now four or five months later… still, nothing. Of course I decided to stop going to them because they were simply a bad middleman paid review site. I know the commission was probably like $5-$10 or whatever but shouldn’t I still get paid for it?
So, have you ever had any bad experiences with paid review sites? If so, what happened to you? All I know is, I would NOT recommend BuyBlogReviews to anyone!

Why I Love Reading Paid Reviews
Written by admin on November 26, 2008 – -Unlike a lot of other bloggers, I actually like reading paid reviews on various products and sites. Most people I know hate it and think it’s a turn off but I just look at the positive aspects of it rather than “oh, not another paid review!”
First, if you’re in the make money online niche, you’re bound to see the same product/site review on various blogs. Some reviews are good and some are bad but either way, it’s good for you because you get to read other opinions prior to you trying it out.
But honestly, that’s not even why I love reading paid reviews. I like reading it because I use it to benefit myself as well. If you’re wondering how it benefits me, well, if the product relates to my niche and my readers would enjoy it, I bet the person who purchased the review would be interested in purchasing one here.
All it takes is a simple comment, a thoughtful one, and mention something on the lines of “I’m sure this product would benefit my readers as well.” Of course, you might want to write a little more than that because most people who pay for reviews, are the same people who read what people have to say. If you can get their attention enough, they won’t hesistate in visiting your blog, contacting you for a paid review for themselves.
See, you have to turn the bad into good. So, it takes a few minutes to read and it takes less to comment and you’ll have a potential buyer in no time.
Of course, it doesn’t always work but it definitely increases your chances. I’ve been contacted a couple times for reviews on this blog but I simply turned them down simply because I didn’t want to write a review on those specific products that contacted me with.
So, go out there and read those paid reviews because more than likely, you’ll be the next one writing one! And better yet, you’re get some extra cash in your pockets!

Who Are You Supporting for the Blogging Idol?
Written by admin on November 18, 2008 – -Just the other day I talked about if the Blogging Idol was really worth it , so if you guys don’t know what it is, check out that post. Now I’m asking which contestant are you supporting?
For those of you guys that are too lazy to read my other post, Blogging Idol was basically formed to see which contestant can get the most subscribers within a given month. And I’m not going to lie to you, it seems like a pretty decent enough contest (except if people try to cheat).
If I were you, I would at least follow it because people reveal some interesting ways of gaining RSS Feed subscribers. And because of the interesting ways I have seen and read, that’s what sparked this post on who you would/will be supporting.
The other day, I read on John Chow (by the way, his blog takes forever to load!) that he was giving his support to Suzanne Franco as the next Blogging Idol because she went above and beyond to make an entire Youtube video pleading for his help. Of course, the dot com mogul responded to her by posting on his blog with his support.
Are they running for president or something?!
Anyways, Suzanne’s tactic was definitely interesting as she saw her RSS Feed count shoot up. Unfortunately, she still has a long way to go as she still trails the first place contestant by about 500.
So, who are you supporting? Well, looking on the list, I’m supporting a handful of people. I’m supporting them because I’m already subscribed to their RSS Feeds. Below are the people I’m supporting from the contest:
- Gyutae of WinningtheWeb.com (he came up short of the first Blogging Idol)
- Jay of http://www.DatMoney.com (he actually helps people out!)
- Jason of TheUniversityKid.com (he also helps people out with great posts and more!)
I’m willing to check out the other blogs as well but currently, these three contestants are who I’m supporting.
Are you guys supporting anyone?

I Reached 100 Subscribers with Minimal Work
Written by admin on September 1, 2008 – -Well, I finally reached my goal of getting 100 subscribers and honestly, it was pretty easy but now I have to push to getting 200, 300, etc. Though, getting 100 subscribers was easy, the hard part is keeping those subscribers around and building off that.
I’ve gotten 100 subscribers in basically three weeks since I reinvested my time into this blog. But quite frankly, I could’ve gotten more but I’m pacing myself when it comes to gaining subscribers.
I haven’t even promoted this blog to the fullest extent yet and I’m still not even using social media and bookmarking sites to get traffic. Also, a large chunk of my subscribers came from my past contest which was very successful because people love to win things but the key is to keep those contestants intrigued with your blog once they come.
So how did I manage to do that?
Well, first, I gave incentives for people to stay subscribed to my blog via e-mail. Not only will you get their attention with the incentives you give out but also, you’re almost guaranteed they will check out a post or two.
Secondly, you want to write good content and always focus on that. Yes, the contest attracts people to come to your blog but the content is the reason why they continue to come back. Once you get any visitor, it’s your job to keep them here. And more than likely they came here looking for great content so that’s what I’m trying to give them.
Lastly, interact with your readers. I’m the type to give back to my readers and I want to keep them contributing to this blog as much as they can. I held a Q&A session to answer peoples questions and I’m sure they appreciated me taking the time to help them out. In addition to answering their own personal question(s), they got a chance to reader other questions and answers too. Plus, they all got a backlink just for asking.
See, those are the simplest ways to keep your readers intrigued enough to stick around longer. Honestly, anyone can get 100 subscribers, that’s the easy part. The hard part is keeping those readers happy and wanting to come back for more.
Think about that and while you have that in the back of your mind, start working on your next goal… 200 subscribers.
