Wordpress Upgrades Happen WAY Too Often
Written by admin on February 19, 2009 – -Is it just me or Wordpress upgrades happen a little too often than we’d like? Don’t get me wrong, I understand they are trying to improve the system, fix the problems and issues, protect us (the bloggers and webmasters) from being hacked but I feel these upgrades happen way too often.
I’m one of those Wordpress users that doesn’t upgrade to the newest version when it first comes out. The reason is simple: there are always issues and problems and I’d rather wait until those are fixed completely before I upgrade.
In addition, sometimes certain plugins that I use aren’t compatible with the latest version and then certain parts of my blog gets screwed up. I remember when I upgraded and the links from the commentators wouldn’t work. I soon found out it was simply because I didn’t have the latest version of the Google Analyticator.
Are these Wordpress upgrades really necessary?
Of course they are! They are only trying to improve the system each and every time. But why do we have to upgrade like five times or more each year?
Before I converted to Wordpress, I was using the Blogger blogging platform and there were definitely good things about that than WP. And yes, that includes not needing to worry about upgrading, being hacked, plugins, hosting issues and so on. But I’m already with Wordpress so I’m trying to make the most of it.
But how do you guys feel about the constant upgrades of WP?

How to Get a FREE Custom Blog Header Designed For You
Written by admin on February 17, 2009 – -There are various ways of getting a blog header created for you - some people try to design their own, some people look for free websites that have premade ones or you can pay someone to do it for you. How about I tell you how to get a FREE custom blog header designed for you and you don’t have to search anymore?
Well, our friend over at DatMoney is having a special promotion in which he will be designing a custom header for you at a small cost. But don’t worry, it doesn’t involve money or currency at all. All he’s asking is for a simple link on your blog’s footer crediting him for the work.
That doesn’t sound to bad if you ask me. I mean, we all have our blog themes designer’s name on our footers so why not include that as well? I think it’s a pretty fair trade, a simple link for a custom header.
Matter of fact, DatMoney designed this blogs header as well. But he has a lot more examples over on his “I Will Design Your Blog Header for FREE!”
I think this is a really great idea and I hope it pays off for both the customer and designer. If blog template designers can do it, why not header designers? Or maybe even logo designers?
People will probably charge anywhere between $20-$60 (or more!) to get a custom header designed but if you take advantage of this opportunity, then you should get one for free.
And life is all about taking advantage of opportunities when they arrive. I will but the question is, will you?

Time For Some Changes in 2009
Written by admin on January 7, 2009 – -Time for some changes around here in 2009 and we will be discussing various ways on how making money online can actually be done. But not only that, we will be optimizing to be extra search engine friendly so we can gather in tons of organic traffic.
More than likely I won’t be posting every single day, but then again, no one really needs to post every single day. I’ll be posting probably like 3-5 times a week with proven ways of making money online. Not only that but I will be optimizing this blog for search engines even more because we should all know that organic traffic is the real traffic that will convert into money.
In addition, I will explain in details on how I will be optimizing, because I’m sure a lot of you guys are interested in getting more organic traffic. Honestly, it’s all about link building and keyword research. That’s it, really.
I will also aim to increase all my stats including the generic Alexa rankings, Technorati, RSS Feed Subscribers and traffic in general.
I’ve been sitting around the same stats for quite sometime and that is going to change. Honestly, the reason why the stats have been the same is simply the fact that I haven’t done too much to this blog since, um, September? I’m surprised I still have as many subscribers as I do now.
The only stat that changed that I’ve noticed is my Google Pagerank increase from PR1 to PR2. And like I said, I haven’t really done much to this site since September and I managed to increase it? Let’s see if I can take advantage of the opportunity. Even though Pagerank still doesn’t mean much.
Anyways, I hope those loyal subscribers will stick around and just give me a second chance to change your mind. Plus, my subscribers, particularly e-mail subscribers, will benefit in more ways than one including being automatically entered in a contest that I have coming up.
Stay tuned and let’s start this New Year 2009 on the right step!

Google Pagerank Update: Still Worthless But How’d You Do?
Written by admin on January 1, 2009 – -It looks like there was yet another Google Pagerank update and I’m sure you have been reading new blog posts, comments and whatever else discussing how each site did. Well, it looks like “Not Another Make Money Online Blog” ended up going from PR1 to PR2. Honestly, I didn’t do anything and for some reason it went up.
So, how did I end up going up in Pagerank when I did absolutely nothing different? Matter of fact, I haven’t been posting as often and I seemed to have turned away quite a few of my readers. So, how in the hell did I do even less and manage to go up in Pagerank? Actually, that just proves Google Pagerank doesn’t mean much.
If you need to know, my Google organic traffic hasn’t gone up, I checked some of my placements on certain keywords and nothing drastic changed either. Matter of fact, if you’re in the MMO niche, you should check out TheNetFool’s Latest PR Update of the Top 100 Make Money Online Blogs.
I didn’t make it on that site simply because my little site isn’t anywhere near the top 100. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was in the top 1,000! Anyways, Jim put together his “Fair Value” analysis of it and it seems pretty interesting. I agree with most of it with a few exceptions but you guys should check it out.
Anyways, how did you guys do with Google’s worthless number that they give you to determine how “important” your website is?
