The Blogging Spam List
Written by admin on September 7, 2008 – -I’m sure you guys know that certain bloggers are actually spammers and sometimes it’s hard to distinguish which one comes first in their lives; blogging or spamming. I mean, have you ever gotten a comment that was so generic you know it just didn’t look right. Well, more than likely that was a spam comment. I think I am going to officially start a “Blogging Spam List” so people can be aware of these individuals.
I thought about this for quite sometime especially since I’m getting more and more spam comments that get through my filters. I have become a freakin’ pro when it comes to identifying spam comments. And I’m not even considering the porn ones I get!
If you have received any of these comments below and you let it stay on your blog, then more than likely you just helped out a spammer with a backlink to their site which in return could hurt you with search engines and your beloved Google Pagerank.
Here are some examples of the spam comments from real bloggers:
- “Great post ! I want to know when you update your blog, where can i subscribe to your blog?”
- “Your blog is great. Thanks for letting me comment!”
- “I just found your blog from Technorati! Great info here, I just subscribed!
If you have seen anything similar to those, more than likely you’re just looking into a blogger who is a real spammer. There are bots that do it for them while other times people just bounce from blog to blog copying and pasting a generic message like “Great post!” or something similar.
Or even there are just some people who read the first sentence and just comment just based on that. And you can usually catch these people especially when it’s a guest post.
Anyways, I’m going to start a “Blogging Spam List” of actual bloggers that you think are spammers. Of course, you can’t just call out people just for the hell of it, you need some sort of proof they spammed. If you have evidence and I consider it spam as well, I will add them to my list which will be updated regularly.
I’m thinking about doing this to warn people, what do you think? Is this a good idea or will I just deep myself into a deep hole on this one?
I’m just a little tired of real creditable bloggers spamming just for a backlink…

Real Named Bloggers and Marketers Are Spammers!
Written by admin on June 5, 2008 – -I couldn’t believe it myself, but there are lots of marketers and bloggers who are spammers. Here’s the thing, they’re using their real names so they’re exposed and when more and more people notice, it’s their name that will carry on the bad reputation.
I mentioned on my other blog about Comment Spammers and I had to call out a few people on it. Of course, a couple of those people were actual real life marketers whom have regular blogs and websites like me and you. Though, I find it funny when I receive a message similar to:
“I found your site on technorati and read a few of your other posts. Keep up the good work. I just added your RSS feed to my Google News Reader. Looking forward to reading more from you.”
Now, I normally wouldn’t have caught that… but since I do manage a couple different blogs, that same exact comment ended up on two blogs. So, he was caught red handed.
More recently, this guy named Roy Phay commented on my blog with:
"Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience! I’m always looking for ways to improve myself and I’m glad to have found your blog. Thank you for sharing with us."
Because I’ve been around for quite sometime, that just looks like a generic spam comment. So, I Googled that and apparently, he’s been leaving TONS of comments with that same exact quote.
Roy Phay will probably never read this because I’m not giving him a backlink but watch out for him, he’s just a generic spammer. And if you don’t believe me, just Google him and I guarantee you’ll see a lot of say comments from him left on other blogs.
I was considering copying and pasting his generic message back to his own site but unfortunately, his site is one of those BS sites in which you just type in your name and e-mail for some crap.
Please don’t be a comment spammer to me because I will put you out there for everyone to be aware of.

Paid Review Site - Part 1: PayPerPost
Written by admin on May 28, 2008 – -As a blogger, we would love to write review and posts on products and sites to get paid. As an advertiser, they love to pay us to write about their products and sites so they get exposure and backlinks to help with SEO. Well, there’s tons of paid review sites out there now, but in this first paid review edition, we will focus on PayPerPost .
PayPerPost is probably the biggest and most well-known Paid review sites out there now. I mean, we, as bloggers, can all recall Google penalizing PayPerPost users by decreasing or revoking their pagerank. But then again, Pagerank is just a number - who cares?!
But the best thing about PayPerPost is the fact that they are the most established out of all the paid review sites out there. And I believe they’ve been around one of the longest.
Also, because they are so established, they have tons and tons of opportunities from advertisers and sponsors. They range anywhere from $5 to $300 to cover the small blogs to the larger ones.
The thing I like is their referral/affiliate programs. They actually have a few different options for it. The first, pays out a flat rate of $15.00 per sign up and second, then a rate of $7.50 for each person who writes a review about your site.
I particularly like the fact they pay out a very reasonable flat rate rather than a commission. The downfall would be the fact that the bloggers/advertisers have to go through the entire process and complete a paid review before you get paid.
Luckily, my referrals have actually gone through the entire process.
I mean, they’re pretty strict because they cover their tracks well so people don’t abuse the system. But besides your referrals needing to go through the entire cycle, I also don’t like the fact that their approval process takes quite sometime. In addition, they have some tough requirements.
Personally, I have yet to write a paid review from PayPerPost but their affiliate program works pretty well!
So, if you’re looking to make some quick cash by writing a few quick reviews, feel free to check them out!
Stay tuned for the upcoming paid review posts!

Affiliated Marketing is Where the Real Money Is!
Written by admin on April 23, 2008 – -I have recently started my affiliated marketing career and I have to say, you can definitely make more money from that than blogging. Of course, you have to know what you are doing.
If you notice many successful bloggers who make money online, they didn’t start with blogging to make money online but a majority of them started with affiliated marketing. For example, the infamous Shoemoney check. Yeah, you guessed it! That wasn’t from blogging, that was an affiliated marketing check.
Matter of fact, the majority of their money probably comes from affiliated marketing. Some people are making 6-figure incomes a month from it. And other’s are just making a few thousands. But either way, I’m sure that’s a lot more money than most people would make in one year from blogging.
I have always said to not put all your eggs in one basket - never rely only on one source of income. Again, we’ll use Shoemoney as an example. He started with affiliated marketing and then started his blog (just another source of income). If you rely on one source of income, that one month where you have a down month for income, then that’s going to be tough.
I mean, I make money online from making banner designs, blogging, selling advertisement, paid reviews, started my affiliated marketing, etc. There are limitless ways of making money, you just need to be creative.
But all and all, if you haven’t tested out the affiliated marketing waters, you should try it. The water may be cold when you first jump in, but I can guarantee it’ll feel a lot warmer once you’re in.
And I’ll post my affiliated marketing updates - failures, successes - and keep you guys updated from day one!
Oh, one last note, a lot of affiliated marketers spend money to make money. So, if you have money to spend, you’re definitely on the right path. Though, you can also do it without money but I heard it’s a lot harder. I’ll try it out both ways!
